What not to miss during your visit to Salzburg! 

Salzburg Cathedral 
The very first basilica of Salzburg was built in the year 774, after which it burned down completely and was replaced by the current Salzburg Cathedral in 1611.

Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter 
The monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Austria. In the accompanying library, you will find 800 very valuable manuscripts. The old library is worth a visit!

Birthplace Mozart 
On the main shopping street of Gertreidegasse is the birthplace of the famous composer Mozart. 

Fortress Hohensalzburg 
On top of the Festungsberg lies Hohensalzburg. This castle has a width of 150 meters and is as long as 250 meters. The castle is one of the largest in Europe. From the town center, a cable car leaves every 10 minutes to the top of the mountain.

Family home Vonn Trapp 
Family Vonn Trapp is the well-known musical family of the Sound of Music. The property is currently under the management of the Villa Trapp Foundation and is also used as a wedding location. 

Castle Mirabel 
Under castle Hohensalzburg lies a beautiful garden, also called Slot Mirabel. It was built in 1606 by Archbishop Wolf Dietrich Raitenau.

The Old Market 
In the center of Salzburg lies the Old Market. Since the 13th century, this market has been the commercial mid of the city.

Schloss Hellbrunn
On the southern side of Salzburg lies the beautiful Schloss Hellbrunn. The famous Santino Solari, who also composed the Salzburg Cathedral, designed and laid out this garden. In the park, you will find several unique water features, some of which are hidden in caves.

Judengasse 
During a city trip, an hour of shopping should of course not be missed. The main shopping area has nice shops with delicious Austrian delicacies. 

Pferdeschwemme 
A special place! In the past, between St. Peter's Abbey and Salzburg Cathedral, the horses of Archbishop Wolf Dietrich were washed in the two large horse washing places. The accompanying stables and the Pferdeschwemmen were designed and built by Fischer von Erlach.
